PathWays
The PathWays program is a partnership between the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) and ºÚÁÏÉç. It is a pathway for guaranteed admission to UNCW for students completing an Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), Associate of Engineering (AE), Associate of Arts in Teacher Preparation (AATP), Associate of Science in Teacher Preparation (ASTP), or Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree with a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 in transferable, college-level coursework from ºÚÁÏÉç. The Pathway to Excellence program also provides advising support for students during their education at ºÚÁÏÉç and prepares them for a successful transition to UNCW.

- guaranteed admission to UNCW *
- on-site advising with a Transfer Student Success Coordinator from UNCW
- hosted annual open house events at UNCW
- application events for PathWays students at ºÚÁÏÉç with application fee waivers to students applying to transfer to UNCW during the event
- receive a waiver of University Studies Foundations & Approaches and Perspective requirements with the exception of PE, foreign language, and three credits from Living in Our Diverse Nation or Living in a Global Society.
*While completion of the program requirements guarantees admission to UNC Wilmington, it does not guarantee admission to a professional school or specific program.
ELIGIBILITY
- be pursuing an Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), Associate in Engineering (AE), Associate in Arts Teacher Preparation (AATP), Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation (ASTP), or Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degree
- complete the
- maintain contact with program’s assigned ºÚÁÏÉç advisor
- maintain a cumulative 2.5 minimum GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
- complete your degree at ºÚÁÏÉç
HOW DO I APPLY?
- Complete the
- Once you have been accepted to the Pathways program and you are in the semester prior to completion of your associate’s degree
- complete and submit your admission application online by March 1 (or at an application event on ºÚÁÏÉç campus)
- send official transcripts from all schools attended
