Residency Licensure Certificate

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The demand for passionate, fully licensed educators in North Carolina classrooms has never been higher. If you are currently teaching and have a bachelor’s degree in a field other than education, ºÚÁÏÉç can help you prepare for licensure and certification.

Our Elementary Education Residency Licensure Certificate program, launching Fall 2026, provides the tools and support you need to satisfy state requirements while you continue working full-time. Classes will be offered in online or hybrid formats, and you’ll receive personalized coaching and in-person observations during your first years of teaching.

To enroll in the Residency Licensure program, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (with a 2.7 minimum GPA) and have a current employment offer or be actively teaching in an approved North Carolina public, charter, or private school.
